Donggubat is a solid-format manufacturer where over 50% of all employees are people with developmental disabilities.

MISSION 1. Reshaping the Structure of Employment
Donggubat employs people with developmental disabilities in over half of its total workforce, creating a sustainable and inclusive employment model.

MISSION 2. Creating Independence Through Business
People with developmental disabilities directly participate in every stage of production, from formulation to packaging, building true economic independence through work.

MISSION 3. Protecting the Environment
By producing solid-format products, Donggubat actively reduces single-use plastic consumption and promotes sustainable manufacturing practices.

Donggubat was founded in 2014 by four university students who wanted to make a difference in the world.

They started by farming together with people with developmental disabilities, hoping to see them thrive as “urban farmers.”

The name Donggubat itself means “a small garden at the edge of the village.”

From tending 22 community gardens to creating our first product, the “Gakkum Soap,” we learned that true change comes not from charity, but from building lasting opportunities for independence.

In January 2017, we opened the Donggubat Factory.

The first friend we met in the garden became our very first employee.

Today, more than 50% of our factory staff are people with developmental disabilities, working side by side with their colleagues.
